Chad Reed in Trouble in Florida
http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/aug/29/pa-motocross-track-upsets-neighbors/

Some may remember my post about Chad Reed and his illness that's stopping him from participating in his racing career. Well, perhaps he's feeling better, but his new Dade County Motocross track is in trouble with residents. It's sort of complicated, but he built a private track system, and got zoning permission from the county for it. Now, neighbors are fuming. Did he use undue influence of some kind to get permission to build this track? It's hard to say.

Reed refused to respond to interview requests, according to this news stories.

What will Chad get himself into next? With the issue causing widespread conflict in the area, politics may be his only answer. Will he run for office the area?

1. I'm not sure who Chad Reed is...
but then, I've never been an ardent follower of Motocross.

5. He's a pretty important figure in that arena.

He's been World Champion twice already. Looks like celebrity is getting him more attention than he'd like, though. He may well be getting some local politicians there in hot water. Stuff like this often backfires.

4. Well, I'm sure there is more than one, but this
Chad Reed is in the news fairly often. It looks like he had some undue influence on the Zoning board in this case. I'm sure there's more to learn about Chad Reed.

6. No no I am pretty sure that this is the only Chad Reed going on.

Nothing to look at and probably doesn't deserve a thread at DU either.

Guess its just a slow Labor Day thread.

10. No. Probably doesn't really deserve a DU thread, but
there's been so many mentions of Chad Reed that I thought I'd better post this update.

13. Actually, this makes a lot of sense.
People with two wheelers and four wheelers going "mudding" in national parks and preserves is a real problem. I'd be glad to tolerate a privately owned area like this if it keeps people from taring up places like Big Cypress National Preserve.
