WASHINGTON - A bipartisan group of senators reached agreement with the White House Thursday on an immigration overhaul to grant quick legal status to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. and fortify the border against new ones.

2. Let's hope they grant amnesty but only with securing the border unlike back in 1986.
Otherwise, are we going to do the same thing again in another 20 years when there are another several million people who jumped the border?

7. They're likely to come pouring across the border faster than ever.
We are going to get rushed by people wanting to get in while they still can and before the borders are secured.

8. I should think the amnesty would apply to people who can show
they've been here - pay stubs, rental records, etc. - not for people who jumped the fence last week, or next week.

9. The key is enforcement of sanctions against employers who hire
the undocumented. Does Lou ever mention the fact that if nobody ever hired them, they'd stop coming?

I believe an illegal invader of our country is a criminal. Period.
