Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) called on the Senate to hold a no-confidence vote on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.,,Transcript:,, FEINSTEIN: I join with Sen. Schumer in saying I think the time has come for the Senate to express its will. And that will is simply to say that we lack confidence in Attorney General Gonzales. I don’t like saying this. I very much regret saying it. I want to say exactly the opposite. But in view of what I know, I can’t.,, Whether it was the torture memo, whether it’s Guantanamo, whether it’s Geneva Convention, whether it’s U.S. Attorneys, whether it’s I don’t know I can’t recall, a department as major as this, I don’t think the American people are well served. I’m hopeful this can be worked out. But there comes a time when you have to say what you think, and this is what I think.

Now can you give Carol Lam her job back so we can get rid of Doolittle ASAP? I've written to her about this and so far have gotten no response. At least she stepped up to the plate on the attorney firings and I commend her for it.

What the Senate can do is appoint her to a job investigating the whole mess with a Senate Committee, (Watergate had oodles of lawyers, for example), But in this case that would be a conflict of interest

All she can do right now is be a witness

at this time, the House impeaches, the senate tries the case. They have so far voted no confidence. The impeachment ball is in Madame Speaker's court.

They all need to go ON THE RECORD as expressing a lack of confidence in this dimwit. Maybe the Pretzeldent "has confidence" in him, but he's the frigging A.G. of the UNITED STATES, not RatBastard's personal attorney, and THE PEOPLE'S REPRESENTATIVES have the right to express their (and our) disdain for his incompetence.

If it passes, it does nothing. It it fails, it does harm. This kind of toothless posturing is a horrible substitute for demanding that elected and appointed officials comply with the law and "protect and defend" the Constitution.
