On Fevers
A fever is the organism's way of killing of invasive microorganisms by turning up the heat and making the environment intolerable to the invaders. Unfortunately, a fever can wipe out a lot of benign organisms as well.

My take is that global warming/climate change is the earth's version of a fever. And of course we are the invasive mutants who triggered the heat defenses of the biosphere. Too bad the defenses are so unselective as to take out a lot of innocent species along with us.

1. Please do not zoomorphize the Earth
It makes the Earth angry when you do that.

3. Zoomorphizing the biosphere?
Right. I should have added more phytomorphism.

4. "The biosphere" is not a zoomorph
Any more than a corporation is an anthromorph.

A thing is not the *same* as its components.

5. Planets are not living things.
They may host living things, but a planet itself is not alive. If every living thing on the Earth died and the atmosphere blew away, the planet would still be here.

Your analogy is broken beyond fixing, I'm afraid.

Compare like to like.
