15. I have only watched it while happening
I personnaly see no reason to watch this horror again. I can remember without reliving it. I cannot imagine how it effects those who lost friends and loved ones. Others probably see it differently and want/need to watch again. It is just too horrifying for me to see it again. I would rather watch the commemorations

4. My son and I were watching this very same footage live when it happened
after the 1st plane hit cnn went to live footage At first I thought it was just a small plane was lost and hit the building. I flipped back and forth to nbc, cbs to see how long it would take for them to go live. It took about 2 minutes or so. I flipped to NBC today show. My son was waiting to go to school and was sitting next to me. We watched as the 2nd plane hit the tower, we both said "OH S*&T", in unison. He was in the 3rd grade, and I was too shocked at what I had just seen to even care that he cursed. Very shocking and sad day.

5. How many more years are they going to cover this
I mean the coverage of an event that happened 9 years ago.... what is significant about 9? I can understand next year.

Are they going to read the names for the next 20 years?

7. They should re-play it every year. It's a huge part of this nation's history.

11. They are leaving out important touchstones related to this history.
Glossing over blowback does nothing more than create national amnesia for what brought this act and bin Laden into existence. Charlie Wilson's war was lost. Creating war to fight war is a futile act. Romanticizing 9/11 as an isolated event in history is a disservice to the nation and a world torn apart by similar romanticization of other acts of aggression. They do not occur without cause.

12. I completely agree with you - especially with so many unanswered questions about that day.
We need to know what really happened and why.

17. Anything of significance you'd like to share? I find the real-time coverage fascinating,
knowing what we know now - and what we still don't know.
