Sarah Palin Mocks The California Budget Crisis, After Getting Dissed By Schwarzenegger On Twitter
Sarah Palin Mocks The California Budget Crisis, After Getting Dissed By Schwarzenegger On Twitter

Gotta say, this sure beats your typical lame-o tweetfight.

Earlier we mentioned how Arnold Schwarzenegger mocked Sarah Palin by saying that he couldn't see Russia while flying over Alaska in a plane.

Sarah Palin responded by hitting Arnold below the belt.

Arnold should have landed; I could have explained our multi-billion dollar state surplus & US energy security efforts. What's he been up to?

24. Highest debt-to-GDP ration in the country
http://chattahbox.com/us/2010/04/01/alaska-largest-of-state-debt-after-sarah-palin/

The only thing that keeps Alaska solvent is oil revenue and federal money.

And never mention that Alaska's Permanent Fund is far closer to socialism than pretty much anything else in the country. You get some amazing rationalizations from people that think spending on anything other than bombs and prisons is "Socialism".

3. Was she responsible for the surplus?
I get the feeling that she's taking credit for something she didn't do.

5. Taxes on mineral extraction - you know, those things CA pubbies screamed
would be business-killers?

And yes, not due to any contribution on her part...

18. California doesn't have an oil extraction tax. I think we are alone in that.
It would be nice to get our cut. Because you really can't make the "they'll move away" argument. The wells are there and paid for amortized and in many cases borrowed against. So tax 'em!!!!

Really our schools need the money.

21. That's what I was referring too. It was discussed during the budget crisis,
but the wingers screamed and cried about how "oil is fungible" and how any tax would drive drilling companies away. But those same people rave about the economies of TX and AK like teeny-boppers at a Bieber concert, despite the fact that both of those states rely heavily on severance taxes. AK get something like 75% of the state budget from minerals, and Palin actually raised those taxes. IIRC, TX has a dedicated pipeline of oil taxes straight into the state university system, which strikes me as a very good idea...

It's one of those things that makes it extremely obvious that RW opposition to taxes isn't really about taxes at all, it's a desire to eviscerate social services.

13. Why...it was ALL thanks to Our Lil' Sarah that the oil prices went up!
She took a state helicopter and started aerial commodity trader hunts 'til they raised the price per barrel!

( :sarcasm: as of now...but she'd probably try it...)

22. If California had the population of Alaska
it probably would have a surplus too. Heck it might actually net money from the Federal government too. Does anyone think comparing Governing Alaska is anything like Governing California? Heck Palin couldn't even hack running Alaska for a full term. So L O L on her.

10. Alaska receives more in federal tax dollars than it pays in....
meanwhile, CA gets back about 79 cents for every dollar it pays in. The skank from the welfare state needs to STFU.

19. Well the republicans, especially Isaa wanted a republican
in charge. He led the campaign to recall Davis. So they got exactly what they wanted. A republican who runs every thing into the ground. We all know how that is..You get a republican, he screws things up to Hades then they have to elect a Democrat to get them out of the mess. PEOPLE NEVER EVER LEARN. Republicans don't know how to govern. All they know how to do is take the money and give it to corporations.

20. She's so thin skinned....how did she ever survive
becoming a city council member to mayor to Governor? She takes everything so personally. Her mental and emotional immaturity will be a campaign issue if she ever runs for anything again. She's yapped too much on facebook and twitter, so there is a written record of her emotional baggage.
