A Tale of Two Georgias...(40 at a klan rally in Elijay. 500 at a gay rights march in Savannah)
I like the direction we're finally heading down here. Two stories from the AJC this morning.

About 40 KKK members protest in Ellijay

About 40 Ku Klux Klan members protested illegal immigration, homosexuality, the president and other issues Saturday afternoon in Ellijay, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.
The KKK demonstration was held in the back parking lot of the Gilmer County Courthouse in north Georgia, the newspaper reported. Several hundred onlookers watched from across the street, and law enforcement limited interaction between the two groups.

Inaugural gay rights march in Savannah draws 500
http://www.ajc.com/news/inaugural-gay-rights-march-611832.html

About 500 marchers gathered in Savannah to raise awareness for rights for gay, bisexual and transgender members of the community.
The city's inaugural Queer Power March was also a celebration of a federal court decision earlier in the week condemning the U.S. military's ban on openly gay service members. The Friday night march ended in Ellis Square.

The march is part of several gay-pride events scheduled to take place in the city this weekend. Supporters are also calling for Savannah city officials to allow benefits for domestic partners and to shed light on hate directed at gays.

2. Savannah is a very nice town...actually a blue spot in a sea of red.
Charleston is even prettier (in the historic district).

5. And Elijay is so backward it's scary.
When I was a kid, you prayed for no car trouble passing through there. I'm a good sized, straight, white guy and even I wouldn't poke around that town.
