I believe in myself. If I don't, no one will. I believe in my close friends, who have been there for me, as much as I have been there for them. I believe in the wisdom of those who have gone before me. If nothing else, they have experience to go on, while I have nothing. I believe in science. If something can't be proved empirically, then how can it be proven at all? I believe in love. I see it every day, in one form or another, and it makes me grateful for the friends and family I have. I believe in constants. The sun will rise, the moon will shine, it will rain and thunder, and it will turn cold in the winter. I believe in innocence. It is there, when you're not really looking for it, on a child's face, or on a loving companion's. I believe in peace, even if it's only for a moment, when there is a warm summer breeze, and tranquility surrounds me. I believe in freedom. How can I not? Our founding fathers fought to give us that, the best gift they could have given. I believe in a piece of paper. It's called the Constitution of the United States. It is the rule and the law of the land, and as precious as any jewels or gold. I believe in the future. We can't stop now--there is too much to see and know, and each changes happens at the speed of light.
I believe. As long as I am alive, I can't help but do so, with the promises of more to come, each challenge as complex as it should be. We still have much to discover, but I believe we are up for the games ahead.
