Need help looking for a word:
When one group "steals" or attempts to use a word already defined by another opposing group/party, and the new use of the word by the new group effectively changes the meaning of the word, usually for purposes of propoganda. What is that? Uggh...it's on the tip of my tongue...any DU help, please.

Think of words like "jihad" or "class war" or "compassionate conservative"

Probably not the best examples, but hopefully someone gets the gist.

Thanks in advance.

3. Co-opting
Co-opting is what comes to my mind.

It's a bit along the lines of an "orwellian" expression.

Peace is War.
Slavery is Freedom.

8. Here's a good example...
'V' for victory in war adopted by the antiwar movement as a symbol of peace.

The way I think of the meaning of that word is based on deception, so not sure about that.

But if that is done, without the stealing of coarse, where the meaning of a word is added to, in order to show that everyone has macros loaded with meaning, and to add education to many topics.

I would say that is clarity.

The point being, that everyone has there own meanings for words, but for a long time they did not know it because they all spelt them the same and said them the same, and just assumed people heard the same message in every word or sentence.

So if one person says a word, that person thinks the other person hears that word, in truth the other person hears what is loaded in their own macros for that word.

So if I say something, you don't here what I say, you here what the words used to say it means to you. So to communicate you have to first show a person what they think something means, then show them what you think it means, then some how find some idea of what a word should be about.

Were basically talking about the base fact that people are not speaking and hearing each other, they are hearing what they already think, so communication is difficult between people.

I have said many times, censors are a primary concern for me, and most of the censors that hurt abilities to communicate are in different views of the same concepts, and people not knowing people see things differently.

Although those that would not openly share information that is meant to help is also a concern.
