Conyers' awkwardness with Stephen Colbert before panel.
It is around 26 minutes past.

http://cspan.org/Watch/Media/2010/09/24/HP/A/38516/House+Judiciary+Subcmte+Hearing+on+Immigration+and+Farm+Labor.aspx">This is strange.

Would anybody know why John Conyers would ask Stephen Colbert to leave?

1. Plausible deniability
"I asked him to leave."

3. Did Steven ever do a joke about Conyers' wife
or do one of his "district" sketches with him?

5. If he did, as a politician, Conyers needs a thicker skin than that.
IOW, it's not an excuse....

6. It didn't make Conyers look cool
And I mean that in more ways than one.

While I was doubtful about Colbert's schtick translating well to a congressional hearing, I was very pleased with the outcome.

7. I thought Conyers was a tad rude in suggesting that
Colbert had spent the time and energy to come there, instead of faxing a statement in.

8. Bad mistake, very discourteous on Conyers' part.
Conyers seemed incredibly grouchy. And upset about voters not coming out. I can't believe that his poll numbers are bad. What in the world?
