Scott Renfroe gained national notoriety with his comments about gays; then, on the anniversary of Kent State, he advocated calling out the National Guard to deal with citizens who carry medical marijuana cards. Today's Greeley Tribune (www.greeleytribune.com) says of Renfroe:
"... he has used his Senate office as a pulpit for some of his personal social views. The comments he made on the Senate floor regarding homosexuals, saying being gay is a sin equitable to murder and adultery, was extreme and inappropriate."
Renfroe has also vilified farmers who rely on government subsidies, even though he receives farm subsidies. He also has ties with the failed New Frontier Bank.
Scott Renfroe has someone running against him, Ken Storck, of whom the Tribune says:
"Storck, who spent 26 years as a prosecutor in the Weld District Attorney's Office, is a smart, committed candidate. He has empathy toward the diverse population of Weld County, and understands the issues facing some of our most under-served residents. He supports public education, and teaches at the Platte Valley Youth Services Center."
Guess which one the Tribune endorsed.
