Whew...the plane didn't crash, so MSNBC is now covering a police chase
Edited on Mon May-21-07 12:38 PM by Atman
This is NATIONAL news? I was just getting used to MSNBC not sucking quite so much...premature, of course.

(On edit: They're calling it a "chase." Seems more like a "cruise." OJ would have outrun these clowns.)

WTF?

.

2. Next up, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton in live cat-fight
At least, that's what it seems like on our local news every day.

3. Looking for anything to cover so they don't have to talk about Gonzo
If they can't find a police chase or plane crash, they might have to talk find someone who has constipation.

4. I used to think 24hr news channels were wonderful
Way back when CNN was the only one.

Now, not so much.

But what's so sad is--they could be wonderful. BBC, CBC, and the like--international news organizations that take their roles seriously are great and serve the public interest.

It's infuriating the garbage that we settle for.

5. Why Watch MSNBC?
I stopped watching MSNBC a looooong time ago.

Precisely because it trivialized the news -- news became mere entertainment.

If you switch on MSNBC, you should not be surprized to see this sort of stuff.

7. Re: the crash
Just to point out the brilliance inherent in the news broadcasters: Did anyone else notice Alex Twitt not knowing (while the plane picture is visible) if it was a twin or single engine? This is the caliber of news broadcasters. No wonder we haven't heard anything about last week's presidential directive!

8. These types of stories are designed to
convince the public that a police state is needed.

I no longer get MSNBC since their executives require that I buy "packaged 4DTV" satellite programming, but all the news stations run these non-story stories.
