Remember , wear purple on October 20th

It might not be enough , but at least vulnerable youth need to see the support out there, being visible is a small step not to be scoffed.

If you are a teacher , and you enter class on the 20th in a purple shirt , that would be a powerful message to the bullies.

...isn't October 20th also a " wear pink for breast cancer awareness" day?

My union wants us to wear pink. I'm not kidding.

But I'm wearing purple... as it hits closer to home... right about now.


Anyone know about the breast-cancer thing? I hope I have the wrong date... but don't think I do.

If it's just a local thing, no big deal. Might even even be deliberate to obscure the chronic homo-cide of gay kids within the school systems as an issue. ( Believe it or not, there's a lot of hostility toward GLBT kids *and* adults in the educational community. I know you're shocked.)

But if it's ( Breast Cancer Awareness Day) a national thing , it's a case of realllly bad timing. On the Purple organizers part.

Either way, I'm wearing purple.

I am not that undiscerning when it comes to fashion :)

as to the pink thing, I haven't heard anything about that.

so I will have to go pick up a scarf or sm'thing.

Purple tights, cowboy boots, a purple long-sleeved shirt, and a black and white floral-print sleeveless dress.
