A vote for one of the tea baggers is a vote for all of them
If I were running ads in these close elections with a tea bagger candidate I would stress this point:

A vote for Rand, O'Donnell, Angle, Buck, Miller,Fiorini, is a vote for all of them.

My feeling is that many independents might vote for the candidate running in their State as a protest vote, but would be appalled at the notion of more than one of these other characters exercising power in the United State Senate.

The key is to tie them all together. Run a montage of clips from the other candidate saying some of their more outrageous things, throw in a loony tune sound bite from the Republican candidate running in the particular election, and then add a voice over along the lines of "Eliminate Social Security? Really? Is this the company you want our Senator to keep?"

"Don't drink the tea. Vote Democratic."

Of course, you could also run an ad of a group of people sitting around drinking tea and spitting it out every time they hear a sound bite from one of the Tea Party Candidates.
