Avandia is one of the world's best selling diabetes drugs, and GSK has had this information for some time but taken no action, and the FDA says they do not have the authority to pull the drug from the market.

The FDA did require some new packaging in the last year or so, but that appears to be the extent of protecting the public health.

2. Actually the %age rate of MI's decreased
86/15560 = 0.55% Avandia
72/12283 = 0.59% placebo

39/15560 = 0.25% Avandia
22/12283 = 0.18% placebo

Why was this missed, seeing as how values of less than 1% are headline-worthy. I don't get it.
