There are two administrative law judges at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission: myself and the Honorable Bruce Levine. On Judge Levine's first week on the job, nearly twenty years ago, he came into my office and stated that he had promised Wendy Gramm, then Chairwoman of the Commission, that we would never rule in a complainant's favor. A review of his rulings will confirm that he has fulfilled his vow. Judge Levine, in the cynical guise of enforcing the rules, forces pro se complaints to run a hostile procedural gauntlet until they lose hope, and either withdraw their complaint or settle for a pittance, regardless of the merits of the case.

***

In light of these unfortunate facts, if I simply announced my intention to retire, the seven reparation cases on my docket would be reassigned to the only other administrative law judge of the Commission, Judge Levine. This I cannot do in good conscience. Accordingly, I recommend that the Commission request ... the services of an administrative law judge to be detailed to the Commission from agency ....

1. Nothing like a blatantly dishonest judge.
x(

Of course the WSJ is smearing the honest judge, calling him senile, and protecting the biased judge. Even though the honest judge has provided links to evidence of his charges, and all the WSJ has offered is smears, how many people will listen to those smears?

Will the commission take this seriously? Will they appoint appoint a judge to replace him? Will they investigate the other judge? (doubtful) If they do, will it be anything other than a reputation-saving whitewash? (even more doubtful)

We all know that at high levels corruption pays well, and is well protected.

5. Just another sign of the lack of journalistic integrity of today's media
That's what you get when all the media are owned by the wealthy and by corporations.

Welcome to the class warfare the rich has been waging against you and everything you hold dear since Ronny Raygun days.

8. And she's pure evil, just like Phil.
Gramm joined Enron's board after chairing the Commodities and Futures Trading Commission, where she issued regulations that legalized the type of electricity trading that helped Enron make millions in illegal profits (on Gramm's watch as a director). As a member of Enron's audit committee, Gramm found nothing wrong with accounting tricks that inflated earnings and siphoned money to selected executives in violation of company rules, if not federal laws. Coincidentally, Enron also delivered campaign cash to Gramm's husband, former U.S. Sen. Phil Gramm of Texas, and now provides that arch opponent of big government with his first private-sector job in decades at the Swiss bank UBS, which owns the rump of Enron's energy trading operations.

Wendy resigned from the CFTC to join Enron, just after having exempted Enron from regulation in trading of energy derivatives. Phil and Wendy Gramm, the epitome of evil.

7. Need more proof that the Chicago Board of Trade commodities traders have fixed the game?
The system has been policing itself since Reagan, and that means the game is rigged -- its time to send in the Feds.

"They pull a knife, you pull a gun. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue. That's the Chicago way, and that's how you get Capone."
