Anybody doing any GOTV? Any volunteering going on out there in DU land?

I just got back from making calls. I made alot of calls.... the percentage of people that actually answer the phone is very low.
But every now and then you connect with someone you really help. Like having a phone number they can call if they didn't get their mail in ballot, or letting them know what day that ballot must be in by. And it's always great when you get someone on the line that is supporting the same people you are and tell you how much they can't stand republicans. When you help someone, or get positive feedback, it really makes my day.

Just wondering what other DUers are doing to GOTV...this is it, the race to the finish line.

it really is quite easy to use.

I am in Ohio. It seems to be going very well.

but do not dial the phone.

While the hub dialer icon twirls searching for the next number, music plays. When the music stops, that means someone on the other end has answered and then I begin my spiel.

No dialing by me at all. Quite cool.

...the work is boring, but hardly grueling. Please don't discourage others from helping.

Much of the remaining calls are to loyal Dems, reminding them to vote. This doesn't require a persuasive personality or willingness to take on even the undecided.

Please help.

for Bill White (Governor), Jeff Weems (DUer - Railroad Commisioner), and Chet Edwards (U.S. House).

We'll be meeting tomorrow to plan our final stretch push to the finish line.

There's a very, VERY good chance Texas will have it's first Democratic governor since the great Ann Richards! Geaux Bill White!

we've got a suddenly energized Party around here and we're not letting our Congressman lose without a hell of a fight.

Same experiences as you, roughly. Felt good. Saw Obama in Seattle yesterday (still tingling); sent in a donation today that will be "quadrupled," according to phone guy. Doin' my part...hope it helps enough!

25% answer the phone, but those responses are 99% great. About half have already voted absentee. Most of the others plan to vote early this coming week.
