Lisa Murkowski is getting really desperate.

What do you guys think of this? http://www.adn.com/2010/10/22/1514962/dems-upset-over-murkowski-mailer.html

Dems Upset Over Murkowski Mailer

Alaska Democrats are crying foul over a new mailer from U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, whose campaign took responsibility for what it called an error.

The mailer has a banner which states: "Alaskan Democrats Who Are Voting for Lisa Murkowski -- and not Scott McAdams," the Democrat in the race.

Below that header appear to be Murkowski testimonials from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ethan Berkowitz and former candidate Bob Poe, among others, and positive comments from U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Washington, in The Oregonian newspaper.

The Democratic Party said the mailer "shows an especially stunning disregard for the truth."

Murkowski campaign manager Kevin Sweeney said it was the campaign's fault in last-minute changes to the flier. He said the headline should have read: "What Alaskan Democrats are saying about Lisa Murkowski."

He said the campaign called Berkowitz and McAdams offices to apologize, and Murkowski called Berkowitz personally.

Let's see ... how does "What Alaskan Democrats are saying about Lisa Murkowski" morph into "Alaskan Democrats who are voting for Lisa Murkowski - and not Scott McAdams"? Big oops. I think they should have to send out a follow-up flyer acknowledging their mistake.

I saw my first RSCC negative campaign ad against Scott tonight during our local evening news linking him with Obamacare and the "failed stimulus," as if he has had anything to do with that. I guess Scott's finally arrived now. They seem to be a bit nervous about him.

1. The DEMs should brag about the Stimulus & Health Care
They would get more votes.

and Scott does speak favorably about the bills, even though he had nothing to do with getting them passed. He does see room for improvement -- as we all do, I would suspect -- but he gives credit where credit is due. He is such a fine candidate. I really like him a lot.

3. Must surely mean that McAdamns poses a threat. Question: if the Repukes are so confident
that they have the voice of the American people. If they are so sure that they are right, then why the need to do shit like this?

5. Don't think she's scared she'll lose....
I haven't been watching this race closely, but I guess I'm assuming that Murkowsky and Miller (both R's) are close enough in the polls that Murkowsy knows if she can pull enough Dem votes away from McAdams, she'll win.

Just like FLA.

6. No, I think she IS scared she'll lose.
Scott gains momentum every day. I follow the comments in the Anchorage Daily News and he's getting more and more positive remarks while people are starting to really pile on Lisa and Joe. Scott has run an amazing campaign, staying totally above the fray and just going out and talking sense to people. So many people were on the fence. I think this little stunt by Lisa will tip them over to Scott's direction. He's very likable and has a very good grasp of the issues. I find it extremely commendable that of the million dollars he has raised in campaign contributions over the past two months, 88% has come from individual donations of $200 or less. He has accepted no corporate or PAC money and has pledged that he never will in the future.

Lisa Murkowski is beholden to the big Native corporations, oil companies, drug companies, and so on. Tea Party Joe is beholden to who knows who, since he's so secretive about everything. Scott looks like the grown-up, unbought candidate in the room, and people are really starting to pick up on that. I like his chances.

Glad to hear it.

10. Yes. The good thing about McAdams is that he is running a truly populist, truly local
campaign. Murskowski--not as popular as her daddy--and Miller are both running national campaigns. Murskowski has this sense of entitlement. Miller is imploding.

If McAdams can siphon off enough independents (because there aren't enough Democrats) and perhaps some disgruntled moderate Republicans, he may be able to pull this off...

4. This could become a pattern
Now that some Dems in FLA. are supporting the "soft" Republican (Crist) with the hopes of keeping the "hard" Republican (Rubio) out of office.

It becomes a worthwhile strategy for other Republicans to use.

You do what works to get elected.

This is perhaps the downside of scaring the sh*t out of everyone with regard to the Teabaggers - to the extent that Dems will vote Republican if it appears the bagger might win.

It's really win-win for the Republicans.

Extra special nice when you can get the words of a sitting D. Senator (Murray) to plaster on your political pamphlet.

7. Isn't Patty a bit of a DINO?
I don't pay a lot of attention to Washington politics. What we've been pushing up here is that Lisa and Joe will essentially vote the same. It doesn't matter that Lisa is nicer or whatever (although I think she looks pissed off all the time), she's still going to vote no and try to block everything the Democrats want to get passed. She was sucking up to leadership pretty thoroughly before this election; she'll go all the way over to the dark side if she gets re-elected because she'll have to regain their favor for "going rogue."

The really safe and sane thing to do in this particular election is vote for the Democrat.

9. Patty is more than a DINO...
She voted for every single Wall Street bailout when Bush was prez.

WA. is my state and we have no good choices this time.

Glad you've got someone good to vote for up there.
