21st Century Family Life: Mom kills infant for interrupting FarmVille session

Florida mother Alexandra Tobias has pleaded guilty to killing her infant son after shaking him for crying while she was playing FarmVille on Facebook. She shook him, "smoked a cigarette to compose herself," and then shook him again. Yeesh.

Many people are unaware of developmental milestones, and don't know what to expect or what is considered normal childhood developmental behavior. So sad. I do wonder if she was experiencing postpartum depression and was using Facebook as escapism.

misfortune to experience. A few months ago a local drug addled young man having problems with his girlfriend pulled a shotgun on his infant son and emptied it into him when police showed up. They empited into him. The child died, the father didn't.

Too bad. He could've saved lots of taxpayer money.

A game?? She was so engaged in a game that she shook her baby?? Just a sad commentary on our society. Oh yeah and Farmville is ruining our lives. I gave it up months ago. I thought it was funny what Dr Phil said about it (not a fan of his). He said it's time to start a real farm and stop with the farmville.

what her past is like, or what other stresses may have triggered her reaction.. It may have been that this was the last straw trigger.

On the other hand, this is why making abortion an evil in society as it has been, creates a situation where parents shouldn't be parents yet or ever.

that argues that some people develop alternate personalities on line. For some people being online is as addictive as any narcotic.

"Mom's driving the car, and her son opens up on them with a semiautomatic," Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood Sr. said of Michelle Terry, 41, and Dayvon Terry, 20.

Chitwood said Dayvon Terry, who was riding in the passenger seat of his mother's car, fired at least three shots at a rival family's Ford Explorer on Clover Lane.

A 10-week-old boy was in the back seat of the SUV, authorities said. One of the bullets shattered the rear window.

14. Infanticide has been a sad fact of human life since there were humans

but the latest incarnations of it are chilling.

Same thing happened here recently, 18-year-old playing video games said his one-month-old infant wouldn't quit crying, so he shook him, then held him in a cold shower when the infant became comatose.

The baby died.
