The November election was the high point....
then it started downhill.

We realized the media was the very same, perhaps worse. The cable news stations in my mind were set up as propaganda outlets...all of them. Now they appear to be reverting to their true calling. I can barely turn on the TV anymore.

So the right wing still has the media, and the GOP are only one man, Lieberman, away from controlling the senate. The house is the only thing we have that is different than before November.

Keith Olbermann is still great, but less than half his show is political usually now. They "give" "allow" us about half an hour a night on MSNBC...most nights. Sometimes Blitzer say things that are true, then reverts to form. Also it looks like AAR is going either centrist or politically neutral on us. George Stephanopoulos and David Brooks???? Why?
Lionel? What can I say?

We were feeling good after the election, then out comes James Carville to say they should replace the DNC chairman with Harold Ford who just lost in TN. There were other slights as well, but then we find in Doug Schoen's book he also wants Harold Ford to be head of the DNC. And then Carville gets away with inferring that Rahm and the Clintons did not disagree with him.

At the very beginning Reid and Pelosi told Dean to take his cues from them, that he would not set policy. They do not care that he is considered by many to be a major leader of the party right now. I think they would prefer or be relieved if all the "activists" got pissed and bailed out. Then they could do things the old "smoke-filled" room way.

SO...they sell out on Iraq. And I see Feingold has a post about it at Kos. I don't see anyone else speaking up about it yet.

I don't see anyone speaking out about the horrible things going on in Iraq. Our party is just about silent.

I want to understand. I want to trust our Democrats. I wonder if they are being blackmailed or threatened? I really do.

Many many more are going to die in Iraq, military and civilians. Even if we can't overrule Bush's veto, our party could at least speak up for them. A lot of blood is going to be shed before the next effort to even try to stop this war. I consider that blood on Democratic hands as well as Republican.

Always in the back of my mind there is the thought we are not going to ever leave there. If it gets too bad on the ground they will just bomb the hell out of them like at the beginning.

But you know what? I'm not surprised. I had this sinking feeling when Murtha got boxed out of leadership.
