WE know why this whole thing imploded..NUMBERS..and the presence of Joementum made the whole thing impossible from the get go.
I'm just wishing that they had called a press conference after the election and thanked their supporters for giving them the majority, BUT also explaining that basically they had been "given" 75 cents, when the cost of the effort is $1.
They could have taken that opportunity to express their hopes that they could hold off *² as much as possible, but there would be a small chance at best, of overturning policy..especially with the crop of Bush-enablers who managed to stay in office.
After saying that, they should have met in confidence (sans Joementum) and planned some real strategy.. and refrained from trumpeting all the "Im-a-gonnas"..
Bush and his devious crew are sitting up there laughing their asses off, because they KNOW they can do whatever the hell they want..and can continue to goad the democrats into looking foolish..and they don't even have to DO anything...
Now the vampires in the republican party have all received a fresh transfusion of democratic blood, and they are feeling great. They "know" the war is stupid, but many of them have elections to win and they no doubt are writing commercials right now, about how the democrats cannot deliver on their promises..and how they have no focus..
We all know how stoooooopid the average person can be, and many of them will be swayed by how the democrats did not keep their promises.:grr:
Never make promises you cannot keep.:grr:
The investigations should have been job #1, and true election reform.. There were many republicans who got a big scare in November, and they might actually have been onboard for some election reform
