Poll question: How bad did SNL suck last night?
Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 11:03 PM by mahina
And further, why does it suck so bad? They've inherited an incredible legacy and they are pissing it away. The skits are lame, and even Weekend Update sucks now. How's that.

Oh yeah- Go Giants!

1. The Carville impersonation on Weekend Update & the auditions for Back to the Future were good
that was about it.

2. Ok, I'll give you that, but how about that lame couple with the orange vests
that can't sing, and it goes on fo'evas? Weak! Boring and un-funny.

4. Now I'm asking myself, why am I watching then?
Good question, I tell myself back. The game, of course, is no problem, but TV on Saturday night is a problem for which I shall have to seek remedy.

5. I couldn't believe Pickles didn't even cover her mouth.
My mother would have smacked me, and she was not big on smacking. But with seats right there and everybody watching? Dang!

3. Is it still on?
I stopped watching back in like the late 90's.

It hasn't been good for like ten years now.

13. you don't know if it's still on, haven't watched since the 90's
but somehow know it hasn't been good all those times you didn't watch because you thought it was cancelled.

interesting.

6. I wouldn't know.

The last time I saw more than three minutes of SNL was probably 25 years ago.
It sucked then and I'm sure it sucks now.

7. I thought I was the only one
out there who thinks SNL has always been juvenile and lame.

9. I just looked up my guess of 25 years just to confirm.

That was the season (85 - 86) that Dennis Miller came on board.

8. It Wasn't As Good As It Has Been Recently
But it wasn't all that bad either.

Ever since Palin was introduced to the world by McCain & Co. SNL has been HELLA funny. Justin Timberlake's appearances have all been legendary and will or should go down in the annals of the funniest SNL episodes of all times. Hamm's first visit was pretty funny...this one was so so...Rihanna didn't help either...she kinda sucks...with or without SNL.

BTW, Kanye West's performance a few weeks back was legendary. He did to an SNL performance what MJ's moonwalk in the 80s did for artist performances.

16. Yeah, you know, that Kanye performance took it to another level.
I've been watching SNL since the late 70s, from really young, and I don't recall the stage ever looking so amazing, and I'm really not like a huge fan of his or anything (I like a few songs enough I guess) but he really put on a great show!

Btw, to everyone else, this is the internet, where everyone says such and such show was so much better when it first started but now it sucks and the latest ep was the worst episode EVAH. It's just something people have done online since the 90s at least. ;)

17. Problem is, many in the cast write their own stuff
They pitch their ideas and work with the writers on the material.

14. SNL hasn't been worth watching for almost three decades...
Their last "golden age" was with the Murphy/Piscopo/Hall/Louis-Dreyfuss/Gross/Duke/Kroger cast of the early '80s. Since then...crap.

15. I thought it was very good.
I know it's "cool" to talk about how the show's sucked since the '70s, but I'm wondering why those people still watch in the first place.

18. I watch it because it has left me weeping with laughter
in the past.
