Rally to Restore Sanity
Edited on Mon Nov-01-10 02:09 AM by emsimon33
Unable to enter the crowded Metro station at Ballston, the group I was with, which included a person in a wheelchair, finally got a cab after waiting in line over 45 minutes. On our way to get as close to 4th and Madison, reserved for those with handicaps, we passed huge crowds making their way to the rally. We passed one of my favorite signs on the way but in the packed cab, I was unable to take a picture. It said: "I got here illegally. I went 5 miles over the speed limit on I 95!"

Listening to commentary on TV today regarding the rally, I disagree that those of us who attended did so just to have fun. I didn't spend $400 to fly across country, spend $170 to rent a car, and $200 for a hotel room for one night to "have fun." I attended the rally to make a statement: I am tired of our political system being sold to the highest bidder and influenced by the media who create dissent and rancor where there should be respectful political discourse.

Below are some of the pictures:

1. Good for you for going, emsimon33!
Were you able to get close to the action? I read Metro set a record for ridership that day.

I'm not surprised the MSM didn't "get" it...doesn't matter, though, because most people did!

Hope you can fix the link for your pics!

:hi:

2. Let me tell you only going five miles over the speed limit
on I95 you would have to drive all the way in the slow lane. If you don't go at least 15 over you'll get rear ended.

3. And if you leave a foot between you and the car in front, someone will try to squeeze in.
