Defending Rights

Is there a correlation between the rights one defends and the abilities one possesses to defend them? If someone has the ability to use speech effectively, are they more likely to defend their first amendment rights over their second amendment rights? Do those who hold their second amendment rights in higher esteem do so because they have inadequate verbal capabilities?

1. interesting theory

maybe for some small percentage of people that may play a part but I would guess that for the majority these thoughts wouldn't come into consideration when talking about the first and second amendments and their feelings on them.

Subconsciously or as you say instinctively this might play a role in peoples' opinions. Like I said, that is an interesting theory.

I'm sure trained psychologists would be able to answer you better though, I'm not one.
