"if they can rig 'em. . .maybe we can fix 'em. . ." plus
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 08:45 AM by stellanoir
With the punditry already doing a pathetically presumed post mortem on the alleged Dem control of the legislature. Here's another approach that is perhaps more productive to ponder. . .

Here is what a bunch of us had a whole heap of fun with during the last midterms.

Scrolled below is a slightly modified and augmented version of what was posted back then*. It evolved through 4 years of consternated activism regarding those nasty and nefarious electronic voting machines. *Nothing* has been done to address or remedy the problem since then. ** In fact, more EVM's have been employed throughout the country. That coupled with the disingenuous nomenclature and mind numbing repercussions of "Citizen's United" it could seem as though all is utterly lost.

It is not.

So here goes anyway. . .

Pssssssssst. . . .

This may seem irrational but here's something simple we all can do. . .

Every time you feel the intense sorrow, anger, or frustration about anticipating the possibility of yet another contrived defeat, consider stiffening your spine, focusing your mind, and saying aloud or thinking really loudly and firmly. . .

"I'm creating with spirit that any malicious code implanted or hidden in the vote tallying software be neutralized during this mid term election, and any malfeasance that does occur be so blatant that it will be exposed and corrected immediately, so that the true will of the people will be revealed and real justice can be established."

Or perhaps, "I'm creating with spirit that this election will be a fair reflection of the centered will of the people, and all their superficially over reactive brain washed impulses be completely dispelled."

(feel free to modify as you feel is appropriate)

You see very simply, if they can rig 'em maybe we can fix 'em. . .with our hearts and minds.

If there is any facet of technology that could be influenced by consciousness it would more than likely be computers. Most of us have personally experienced inexplicable technical anomalies in the past. Sometimes they are even strangely self rectifying.

Of course it sounds irrational-but so are those controlling the levers of power. They have consistently "refudiated" all rational tools and arguments, even when based on heaps of compelling evidence, and have done so with presumed impunity and no accountability for nearly a generation if you haven't noticed. They incessantly espouse unsubstantiated claims. The echo chamber of the media gives them maximum coverage.

They simply dismiss and marginalize our claims as being "reality based." TRANSLATION: They are using low level magic and mind control. They are masterful at "group think." We have not been so, but perhaps we can focus at least for the next 48 hours or so. Theirs is based on falsehood and fear whereas, if we draw from truth and love and humor, can you imagine what may be possible. . ?

Having approached the issue of election integrity from every imaginable traditional angle for way too long, and having written to every pundit, plutocrat, and politician of whom I could think, to virtually no avail, this may be one method of recourse that won't take years of legislative and legal wrangling to remedy this most perilous situation.

ENOUGH ALREADY !!!

It's worth a shot I figure.

Oh and it was suggested to me that I include a visualization for those who are more visually oriented as well.

Consider visualizing Obama's second inaugural address.

"nam-myoho-renge-kyo"

If you bother looking at it, kindly consider taking notice of the time stamps on the responses that thread for chronological significance and continuity's sake. A nay sayer chimed in up thread very late in what had been a really uplifting discussion and one of the best times I ever had online.

We had a great outcome then. Maybe we can do so again.

More current info. . .

2. Positive intention followed by positive action -- I join you, too

That's the gist of your post, IMHO. Focus on what we choose to create then act on it, and don't get sucked into the anger and frustration such that we can't function effectively.

Being pissed and righteous indignation have their place, of course. ;)

I join you, stellanoir.

4. Hear hear! And kickety!
Thanks for this, Stella. I was thinking along the same lines this morning, when I voted for the first time on a newfangled scanner machine. Waaaah I already miss the old, heavy, trust-inspiring lever machines here in New York State! But I will join you in sending the best of intentions to override not only anybody messin' wit' the machines, but also ye olde psy-ops of "Oh well the Republicans have already won" (meaning "Hey Dems don't bother to vote!")

OOGA BOOGA SMOOGA WOOGA!

16. Thanks, stella. I'm adding my energy to this endeavor, and using
your words.

"I'm creating with spirit that any malicious code implanted or hidden in the vote tallying software be neutralized during this mid term election, and any malfeasance that does occur be so blatant that it will be exposed and corrected immediately, so that the true will of the people will be revealed and real justice can be established."

AND SO IT IS.
