I would have happily voted for him instead of dems in my county who never ever have a chance.

"Citizens United" ruling. Grayson was massively outspent here by the GOP smear machine. My district is VERY liberal and there were Grayson signs all over my neighborhood (including my yard) but the corporate money machine brought out the big guns and essentially bought votes against him.

Webster is all smug about what a positive campaign he ran. Well, Webster did. But it's awfully easy to run a positive campaign when you have outside groups and the media willing to do your dirty work for you.

I hate the fact that I am going to be represented by a reactionary who lets his religion influence the way he legislates. I may have to avoid SR 429 just to avoid seeing his name* - or at least make sure I carry motion sickness bags when I can't.

* Yes, when Dan Webster was in the Florida legislature, he was so helpful in getting a toll road through western Orange County that they named the road after him.

We knew what would happen with Citizens United. It sucks!

I hope you get a HUGE forum from which to speak from here on out, like reagan did on the radio out here after he was "in exile" following the 1976 primaries when he lost to Gerald Ford. He went straight to the radio and did commentaries and kept his name and face and ideas out there in front of people. Four years later he came back and ran the table. Six years later, would you please do all of America a favor and render marco rubio unemployed? OR... maybe aim for something higher?

I hope he takes this as an opportunity to get his name out there nationwide, helping people and bringing to light injustices. I dont know if it will be TV or anything else..but he's shown that he will say and do what is right for people even when he will take a lot of heat for it.

And, thank you to Mr. Feingold, one of the few votes who stood against the Patriot Act--who actually questioned it's constitutionality. Thank you to Dr. Dean who worked endlessly to fight for a strong democratic party.

The House of Representatives is supposed to be the voice of the people. It is not supposed to be the voice of business interests, especially global interests, especially if it hurts those in this country. A representative represents the people from their state, they are the voice for those who have none-what do we have now? Those who strive to keep workers safe, like in mining; those who strive to aid the people by promoting decent jobs?

Has the people's house become the "corporate" house? The teabaggers funded by big money have worked against their own interest--with the help and access of corporate media, they've bought into the factless, illogical blatherings of people like Beck and O'Llielly--their hate spewing "idols" have told them that shite is cake and they eat it up, to their own detriment.

They've voted for the same people who created the problem-lying us into war, flooding private corporations (some war profiteers) with our money, while these same corporations have on many occasions given shoddy work and services, especially to our military. Over funded corporations, with little accountability, and now the people want to privatize even more, giving more corporations more power over them. The media has taken years to promote the idea (with the help of neocons) that the government is the enemy, that the government needs to be less--while their gods, like Reagan and Bush, expanded the government, Homeland Security anyone? What they really meant is that they wanted small government when it came to helping the "little people"--now if it is helping their corporate buddies, then that's okay.

Yeah, we are screwed--get ready for more of the same--more deregulation, more privatization, and less representation for the people. After all, the corporate personhood is way more valuable than the individual citizen.

Heartily and hope this doesn't end my dreams of a Democratic ticket consisting of Grayson and Anthony Weiner.I tend to look at these results as the perversity vote.The incumbents were chastised for not delivering quickly enough and for IMO failing to make clear the degree of Republican obstructionism.Now the Repubs have to deliver and the bagger constituency is much less forgiving than any Democrat constituency. The repubs come to office this election have one term to deliver on a wildly radical platform. It won't happen and the essential looniness of the baggers and their allies will be exposed for all to see especially if we can get sane voices to point out the lunacy.

It's time to put our energy into solutions, ncteechur, and stop blaming and shaming. Also, those who would have you believe that Grayson and other 'progressives' (whose numbers are few, and whose audience is limited) have had a significant impact on the general electorate are promoting an agenda built on a bedrock of divisiveness and personal gain. We can only hope that these trying times will be the crucible within which exceptional activists continue the challenging work of reuniting our nation.

If, as your nickname suggests, you are an educator, I hope that you are an effective activist in your classroom. My advocacy for the youth of our species--striving to help them develop exceptional and competitive academic skills, while at the same time encouraging them to BE activists about their own rights and the future of our entire species--will continue unabated.
