The problem with being deferential to the zealous supporters is? DADT, immigration, and repealing tax cuts for the very wealthy are not the non-starters he seems to think--totally other meat and taters issues were in play this year, and lots of establishment Dems failed to talk up their real successes. I'm almost tempted to say something along the lines of "And this is why you, personally, could not get enough Democrats to support you, loser." Oh, wait. I just typed that.

It was giving away the store to the party of no in the name of compromise. We didn't hold Wall Street accountable and that's why the tough economy and lack of jobs stings so much more. How is that the fault of Liberals??? That's right Mr. Bayh - it's NOT.

Contrary to what many on DU choose to believe, the majority of Americans that are fearful/dislike this President do so because they think that he is TOO LIBERAL. What happened tonight is ENTIRELY consistent with that. And the people that are saying that it's because this administration is "too far to the right" and "Republican lite" -- that type of cluelessness is nothing short of terrifying.

Bayh is just saying what many believe. The results of this election WILL result in a rightward shift in Dem politics. There are simply not enough liberals in this country to have stopped what happened in this election. Look at Grayson. Look at Feingold. America is too conservative. It has been for 30 years (if not a whole hell of alot longer).
