Just heard a bit of Tim Kaine on Randi (it was from earlier but they play it later here in Seattle).

So he tells about how Truman was so disliked that nobody wanted him campaigning for them in the mid terms -- they lost both houses. They were wondering who was going to take his place next presidential election because surely they couldn't let him run! Well, after two more years, not only did he win the Presidency, he won back both the houses! So he kind of said mid-terms, pffft.

It's so easy, for me anyway, to wallow in this and look down that long, dark hole with Boehner looking back at me, but hearing this from Kaine really helped. It's just another step in the journey. I have no doubt, really, that great things are ahead. Look forward!

AND I have to say, the mood here at DU has been encouraging and positive. Not many "we should haves" -- more "here's what we have to do now". :headbang:

3. No reason to feel bad or guilty
For the ones who campaigned, supported, and voted for the Democratic Party, there is no need to agonize over this midterm loss. It was the loss for many who voted with the repubs. They just aren't bright enough to realize it yet. But instead, we should be giving ourselves a pat on the back for giving our all and supporting one another.

4. I agree. Everyone came together and gave what time and/or money they
could. Instead of feeling defeated, I feel energized! :hi:
