Glad that Reid won, but I believe Pelosi and the House was sacrificed
by the ineffectual leadership of Reid in the Senate. Maybe I just expect too much (and heaven knows the situation in the Senate has been difficult), but Pelosi always managed to "marshall" her troops. Reid just seemed to capitulate. NOnetheless, I'm glad he won, but sad he may have done so at Pelosi's expense.

2. I'd rather Sestak had won....
and Reid was sent packing. That douche needs replacing.

5. I also
I would happily have traded the Reid win for a Sestak win. I bear no vitriol against Reid, I just want a new leader in the senate, and I was moderately impressed with Sestak.

3. Both Pelosi & Reid were Outstanding Leaders
Reid rallied ALL 60 Democrats in the Senate to pass health insurance reform last year. Getting 100% of the Senate Democrats on board was remarkable. Reid has been an outstanding leader during extremely difficult times, and I am delighted that he has been re-elected.

Nancy Pelosi was also a very effective House Speaker, and I love her for the enemies she made!

4. The House is on Pelosi
She tried to sacrifice others, and not realizing we are all tied together, they took her down with them.

For all his other faults, the House losses are not on Reid.

7. The Senate is not the House and never will be.
Reid is not my favorite Senator or politician around but getting Senators to get together is way different then the House.

9. No, but the number of bills passed by the House that were never
advanced at ALL in the Senate--never even considered was appalling. I believe they should have made the public case that the obstruction required changes to the filibuster and gone for it--not removed it, but modified it. While my earlier post acknowledged all the points you bring up about the difficulties unique to the Senate, it remains that the failures there, hurt congressional Dems badly and Pelosi and team bore that brunt.
