1. I believe Obama won only two counties when he won the state in 2008.
Maybe three?

5. Outside of Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada has only very sparse population.
Elko and a couple of other towns have a few thousand but Nevada is empty land big time!

9. In 2004 Clark County (Vegas) went for Kerry, but Bush won the state.

I did a lot of campaigning there and it was a major disappointment.

Its electorate can be very fickle, and there just aren't that many of them.

10. Maybe you've never been to Nevada?
It's a desert, an empty desert. For a while, Las Vegas slogan was "the island of Las Vegas" because there is nothing else there.

18. Yes. Angle won the all important counties where all the cows live. Lol.
The shocker for me was Reid taking the very red county of Washoe by the margins he did. He only garnered 31% in my county. I figure that's me, Mr. LL, and another Democratic couple who live on the next street over.

25. Washoe isn't all that red these days
numbers of registered voters is pretty close

republicans- 87,013
Democrats 86, 174

Democrats had more registered voters in 2008 rethugs only recently took the lead in the run-up to this election

26. AND I can tell you one thing do you know why I bet I do..
Angle the ditzbag said she would work to ban alcohol and what does Reno and Las Vegas make most of their living from...tourist, partying and gambling. And if you had no alcohol no matter what they built no one would come.
