Stop Watching TV News--Take the Pledge Now
First of all, it will be good for your mental health. You will be amazed at how much better you feel.

Second, generally, mainstream media supports conservative, corporate, and even right wing factions. Don't give them what they want, which would be watchers.

Admit it, you already know most of the few facts they tell you.

Do you really need to know more about pharmaceuticals?

Even if there are a couple of reasonable news programs, they can't possibly balance all the poison.

Never, never watch Fox.

Pledge?

12. I never, ever watch Fox...for years I've been that way.
I even make stores and pubs change the channel if it's on there.

6. I took that pledge over two years ago.
I occasionally tune in to msnbc's evening lineup, but these days even that is rare. I'm burned out and worn down. I am not the least bit interested in what the 24/7 corporate bobble heads have to say.

9. After wall to wall OJ coverage
I figured out that the media was forcing stories on us that most could not care less about.

I stopped watching TV news at that point. Never looked back and feel better about it.

With the advent of the Internet, who needs to watch someone tell them how to think?

15. It's been 10 mos. with no TV for us.
Don't miss especially, the ads telling us we're not acceptable unless we buy what they're selling.

Netflix for movies.

Occasionally Rachel when some nice people from DU put up an important video.

19. I turned off the cable in the beginning of the month
Now, if I want to watch stuff on a screen, I Roku.

Occasionally I will watch last night's Eyewitness news in the am as I have a "news channel" that plays previous day's news. But more often than not I skip it. I am mellower.

30. How?
So you let the TV news grow even more RW & crazy? And even more of the voting population listens to this crap. And we withdraw in to our little elitist la de da land and get squat from our government.

32. you've got it backwards.
the only la-de-da land exists in the minds of those brainwashing themselves by tuning in to the msm. By not tuning in and listening to alternative truth-telling media, we empower ourselves by basically having more awareness of the truth, better discernment, and ultimately to make better decisions, rather than having our focus on the latest celebrity gossip or whatever is being pushed at the moment.

26. Please Join Me
We're feeling pretty sad and revengeful right now. This is something we can do! Turn our backs on the media and the corporations that control them. The media is not our friend!
We can start a movement.
Turn off the TV news.
We can do this!

27. Not taking a pledge
We need more liberal news. If you want to be elite by not watching news so be it.

But know all you accomplish is allowing the Faux news & RW crap to grow and prove that liberals are too elitist to support liberal news & talk.

Sorry, unrecommend!

29. I Understand
I understand your frustration on not having more liberal TV news. But it's not going to happen.

Who do you think is paying for this conservative bombardment? And do you really think that they will fund a more liberal TV news?

And I don't really trust even the stations that purport to present a more liberal position.

It's like Fox's Hannity and Combes. They have, one on side, an aggressive conservative like Hannity and, on the other side, an unattractive wimpy guy like Combes.

Does anyone really believe that Juan Williams gives us a liberal view on Fox News? It's part of the conservative illusion.

31. So we have a start on MSNBC news & some talk radio
Which is a helluva lot better than we had just 5 or 6 years ago. We need to get people who invest in telling our side.
