BUSH: 'I Was A ' DISSENTING VOICE ' On Iraq War
:nopity: :boring: :nopity: :boring: :nopity:

:nuke:

" Former President George W. Bush considers himself "a dissenting voice" in the decision to go to war with Iraq.

In the first interview of the publicity tour for his new book, Decision Points, Bush told Matt Lauer that he didn't want to use force.

Excerpts:

http://www.nbcuniversal.presscentre.com/content/detail.aspx?ReleaseID=2411&NewsAreaId=2

"Not everybody thought you should go to war, though," Lauer said. "There were dissenting voices."

"I was a dissenting voice. I didn't want to use force," Bush said. "I mean force is the last option for a President. And I think it's clear in the book that I gave diplomacy every chance to work. And I will also tell you the world's better off without Saddam in power. And so are 25 million Iraqis."

Bush went on to say that he still feels like going to war was the right decision. And as he wrote in the book, "No one was more sickened or angry than I was when we didn't find weapons of mass destruction."

The interview will air Nov. 8.

7. Er, from what I read, he was looking for an excuse to go to war with Iraq from the word GO.
This was even before 9/11.

Hours after 9/11, his team was looking for anything to tie to Saddam. It's all right there in the Terror Timeline, documented.

Too bad Bewsh's voice couldn't come with selective delete.

After discussing the “media’s fixation” with silly things like “dabbling in witchcraft” O’Donnell reveals to the pair that back when she started her anti-masturbation campaign back in the day she didn’t even know what masturbation was…now that she does she masturbates multiple times a day!

27. I'm sure it's very clear in his book how much of a
pacifist he was and how he really had no choice but to invade Iraq. Of course in reality it's very clear that nothing would have prevented them from attacking Iraq. Not even Saddam surrendering, which he actually tried to do but Murika needed some Shock and Awe.

Missing the fundamental point...You don't take a country to war ON A HUNCH, hoping to find your justification LATER. You make 100% certain of your reasons FIRST. Sorry, Georgie. You're full of shit (as if we didn't know).

and looked at the documents in those man-sized safes. That's where the WMDs were fabricated.

37. So he got out voted?
You were the damn president, man! If YOU are the dissenting voice, then it doesn't happen! Apparently, Bush didn't understand that the presidency isn't rule by committee, lol. Which might be closer to the truth that you think. This guy truly was incompetent and unqualified for the job. Watched part of an interesting Frontline documentary on Bush and the war, and it suggested that he really did tone down quite a bit of the language they put in his speeches (resulting in a number of the hilarious gaffes when he was trying to ad-lib). It made a pretty good case that Bush was the more moderate of that group. Kind of scary.

"i know it's confusing, but in this context, going to war AGAINST iraq is really the same thing as going to war WITH iraq, it's just that going to war WITH iraq doesn't sound as, well, aggressively criminal."
