Just what would $140 million buy?
Several major-market TV stations

An entire housing development of 200 or so houses (at CA prices)

Close to five Burger King Buck Doubles for every man, woman and child in CA

Three Gulfstream 5 private jets

Apparently, the governorship of a decent-sized state -- but happily, not ours!! :bounce:

1. Add to that 140 million
the 45 million flushed down the toilet by Linda McMahon and the 11 million by Tom Foley in Connecticut and we could have a pretty decent public education system.

3. Yikes! Proportionately, that's worse than NutMeg!
CT is only one-tenth the size of CA, though campaigns there are costly because the southwest third of the state is in the expensive NYC TV market.

6. Very, very good points... and we need to keep examining our priorities this way.
Making political decisions based on 30-second ads, yard signs and bumperstickers.... no wonder we are such an ignorant country.

We can do better.
