The GOP would give Obama's 2012 chances a boost if they try to impeach

...which is why they won't.

Oh... they'll investigate out the wazoo.... in order to set the general narrative that Obama is "corrupt". But they won't actually file articles of impeachment.

That's the one thing they could do to almost guarantee losing in 2012.

They won yesterday because of a depressed turnout by Democrats. In PA, the turnout was 125K less than in 2006. In Ohio, it was over 300K less!

The quickest way they could boost Democratic turnout for 2012 is to try to impeach Obama.

That's why it isn't going to happen. They know this.

1. Well I hope the "Tea Party" demands it!
And that is very, very possible.

4. The GOP have mopped themselves into a corner
They cant deliver on promises made without compromise. And any Compromise will be viewed as betrayal by the baggers. The Civil war continues. They either have to deliver, or appease the beast within.

Gonna be an interesting two years.

6. The battle between "normal" (cough) Republicans and the teabaggers could
overshadow the Republican/Democratic conflicts. It could be a very interesting two years.

2. Sestak could have pulled through by 60,000 votes had the base turned out.

3. I disagree. Reason: They could easily impeach in the House and it would go into history which would

hurt President Obama. They want to hurt him, and it would fire up their base. They can impeach for any reason that they want-anything. It gets sorted out in the senate and he would be acquitted, but it's still a black mark for history.

5. An impeachment proceeding on flimsy charges is a "black mark" against the
accuser, not the accused.

8. They are obsessed with vengeance. They will move to impeach.
They lack the common sense to recognize where it got them LAST time.
