Meg Whitman's Big Mistake

Ms. Whitman costed votes at approximately $51.80. That's what she paid for each of the 3,088,070 votes she received, if we put her buy in at $160,000,000. Clearly, she should have either increased her per vote outlay, or bought more votes. In order to overcome the near million vote margin by which she lost, she would have had to spend approximately $26,000,000 more, for $186,000,000 total.

I'd say she was pot committed for the extra 26 million, but I'm not a genius business woman like Meg Whitman.

A mere million--chump change for the likes of Meg Whitman--and her former housekeeper could have been back in her home country set for life and living like a queen, instead of crying at Gloria Allred's side on national television.

I don't know if Meg would have won--Jerry Brown ran a brilliant campaign--but she might have pulled it out.

Lesson to future plutocrats who want to get into politics. Make sure those little embarrassments that life hands you are well taken care of before they get a chance to lawyer up and hit the media.
