I'm curious as to whether Iraq and Afghanistan were concerns
in this election? The cost, both in lives and money .... did the Republicans, who, from the bits I saw, partly ran on a platform against Gov't spending, mention them at all in their campaigns?

Just wondering.

3. It was the economy all the way...
When people are afraid their jobs are going to evaporate and their homes taken away, they don't give a shit about foreign diplomacy.

5. I realize that, but the monetary cost, daily ........... you'd think would
be brought up by anyone accused of wasteful spending and threatened with the cutting of social programs like Medicare and SS, foreclosures ..... because of the state of the economy. The economy can't be used to attack one party if the one of the biggest causes imo is ignored.

6. You are asking people to look at something that is out of their radar.
The wars are one of the biggest contributors to our economic problems. Wars almost always damages the economies of the nations at war. But people are concerned with bread and butter issues, their next paycheck, their mortgage. Some individuals will consider the war, but the elctorate acts like a heard, and a heard can be driven by insecurity and hunger.

8. The MIC
Military Industrial Complex is a tabboo subject apparently.

It's the elephant in the room that everyone is completely ignoring!

That money spent on killing could create a fuck of a lot of jobs building green things and

growing our own local food.

9. The deficit can not be lowered without touching national defense.
Your are right.

But it is a sacred cow that no one wants to slaughter.
