Less government?
Perhaps we look at less defense spending...

Last year we spent as a whole $738 billion dollars on the department of defense.

$134 billion of that budget was in procurement alone! BIG contracts to BIG donors of BIG politicians...

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2010/02/01/us/budget.html

Lockheed, Boeing, General Electric, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, et. al gave a total of $64,315,390 to influence campaigns in return for hundreds of millions of dollars more in 'procurement' contracts...

The GOP wants less government...

Here is where you START!

1. They also want smaller government- so they can fit it in your pants or your uterus.

4. Small government = more to spend on corporate/military complex.
It's time to refresh memories of Halliburton's wasteful spending, perhaps?

7. It was brilliant
but it led me to another thought in a different direction.

Sorry if I spoiled your joke; it was clever.

8. Wasn't trying to sound touchy- I was more wondering if I phrased it badly.
I'm probably a little edgy, as are we all.

2. Exactly.
Add another significant cut: the tax freebies for the top 2%.

3. The US spends more money on defense than all the
rest of the countries in the world combined. But it's Social Security that's ruining the budget. Damn that s.s.
