where's the TEA PARTY FAIL headline?
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 09:09 PM by bos1
Paladino, O'Donnell, Macmahon, Angle, Whitman, Buck, Foley -- they ALL LOST and Miller in Alaska might too. The NYTimes has big headlines about the victories and strength of the Tea Party, but I count only three of them (Rand Paul who might've won anyway, Rubio and some other creep whose name escapes.) What's with the NYTimes coddling of the TP? Why do I have to start this thread? What's going on?

edited to include Foley

1. It's drama. That's all the M$M cares about.
Kind of like the old "if it bleeds, it leads" deal.

4. Yes it was sarcasm. I completely agree - WTF is up with that? They FAILED!
But hey, as you pointed out, that's not drama.

6. Dammit....for the last time, there is NO Tea Party...just extreme Rethugs!
And THEY DID NOT LOSE, THEY KICKED OUR ASS!

I encourage everyone (once again) to go back and view Alexandra Pelosi's HBO documentary "Right America Felling Wronged" and compare and contrast the signs and people and interviewees at the McCain-Palin rallies and the views expressed by their supporters in that film to ANY video or signs or demonstrations at "Tea Party" events. There is almost no daylight between the two! The far right wing was the genesis, the manpower, the financing and the heart and soul of the so-called Tea Party "movement".

"Muslim" Obama?
Check...

Birth certificate nuts?
Check...

Uninformed and ignorant charges of "socialism"?
Check...

Overt Racists?
Check...

"Redistribution of wealth" nonsense?
Check...

"Take Back / Save our country" rhetoric?
Check...

Amped up emphasis on being a "Christian"?
Check...

All white and either old or ignorant or both?
Check...

And ALL of this was DURING the campaign in '08 and immediately after the election and BEFORE the inauguration!!!
There was a "Tea Party" BEFORE there was a President Obama for chrissake!!!

Sure there are a few people who self-identified as "Tea Partiers" for more libertarian reasons than conservative ones, but there were also these things called "blue dogs" for a while too. The main point being that there is no such thing as a real third Party called the T.E.A. Party...there is only the Republican Party and its ultra-right wing nuts, who have been previously known as Birchers, Religious Right, Moral Majority and any other name you want to remember.

9. They Took A Bunch Of House Seats
Many Blue Dogs were swept by teabaggers...that's where they're doing their happy dance. This morning I saw a piece on MSNBC claiming how Mooselini was a big winner despite most of her "mama grizleys" going down.

But think of it this way. Imagine had the Greens or some new third party ran candidates in their first election and won a bunch of seats. Yes, that is a story to be noted. Of course that assumes the teabaggers are truly an "independent" party...which they're not.

10. O'Donnell is a dumbass who thinks she has some power to tell Coons how to do his job...
I mean jeez, she lost by 17pts, that's pretty much a clear sign that the state rejects you!

http://www.salon.com/news/politics/2010_elections/index.html?story=/politics/war_room/2010/11/03/election_night_speeches

One of the earliest concessions of the night, O'Donnell's speech began on a decidedly positive note. "We have won," she announced, "because the Delaware political system will never be the same." (This apparently confused O'Donnell's brother, who could be heard remarking, "We won, did I miss something?") Soon, though, O'Donnell was lecturing the candidate who defeated her (by 16 points), Chris Coons, about his responsibilities in the years ahead. Among other things, O'Donnell said she had already asked Coons to watch a 30-minute infomercial produced by her campaign. "We can only hope and pray that he chooses to go against his party leadership and do what's right for the people of Delaware," she said.

What a fricking dumbass - I wish she would go BACK HOME TO HER STATE OF NEW JERSEY!!!

Sure a bunch of dumb ignornant people in the south voted for you BUT THE REST OF US TOLD YOU TO GO AWAY!!

11. they don't want people to know that. They want to pretend it was a great victory
because they are still flogging the Republican Rebranding Effort that is the Tea Party.

12. I've seen segments on some of the news channels
saying how only 31 percent of Tea Party candidates won. Some are reporting it.
