Petition to have DU fundraisers for 'our' candidates, before elections

I think DU should host their own "ActBlue" fundraising efforts, for candidates we deem worthy... There should be a prominent place on the home page where DU solicits these donations.

Seems like a wasted opportunity... other websites like Daily Kos and Balloon-Juice do it. They can raise a lot of money, and it also raises awareness among the candidates, that a website is proactive and getting things done. It will raise the profile of DU.

The threads about Russ Feingold and Alan Grayson (both outspent) made me start this thread. Flowers are sweet, but they don't help win elections. Money does - it gets ads on the air.

DU administrators, what do you think?

Bad idea.

Also, ActBlue lets you donate "ala carte" to target the specific candidates you like.

So if there are 6 "DU" ActBlue candidates, you can skip donating to some, and donate to others, in whatever amounts you want... including zero.

Any reason why DU wouldn't be interested?
