Why Is The Media STILL Verbally Fellating The Tea Party?
Didn't ALL of their candidates go down in flames yesterday?

1. My question is why the media continue to legitimize them as a real party
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 10:38 PM by Blue_Tires
when they are just fringe republicans...

Also, why no one tries to nail them down on what they really stand for...Just for fun, go back and see what these so-called TPers wanted when they first came on the scene, and how that has morphed since then...

2. It might actually be worthwhile at this point. House Republicans have responsibility now, and they
own these clowns. This might get interesting fast.

3. Only 32% of their candidates won ...

Just 32% of Tea Party candidates win

From NBC's Alexandra Moe
For all the talk of the Tea Party's strength - and there will certainly be a significant number of their candidates in Congress - just 32% of all Tea Party candidates who ran for Congress won and 61.4% lost this election. A few races remain too close to call.

In the Senate, 10 candidates backed by the Tea Party ran and at least five were successful. (Race in Alaska has not yet been called.)

In the House, 130 Tea Party-backed candidates ran, and just 40 so far have won.

Identifying Tea Party candidates is undoubtedly inexact. Our criteria, generally, was to include anyone who has either been backed by a Tea Party group or has identified themselves as a member of the Tea Party movement. Toward the end of this cycle, however, seemingly every Republican was trying to associate themselves this way. One left off the list was Dino Rossi, despite Jim DeMint endorsing him, since Tea Party groups backed Clint Didier in the primary.

4. they got the fascist Rubio in, and Rand Paul, and several other extremists in, but,
they sure as heck lost several of their supposed 'big wins', didn't they? The party in power has always lost seats after a new president, so sure, the GOP did better, but the Tea Party wasn't overwhelmingly successful.

5. Well if controversy pays the bills, then it make obvious sense why.
It never had anything to do with journalism! Silly!

7. No, two made it to the US Senate
you missed one Rand Paul from KY.

And there is quite a large group that made it to the US House.

They are a movement...

Now a large group did go down... but to say allis not realistic.

8. Because they spent so much time and energy pushing the Teabag movement--
they're not going to suddenly drop their big project now.

9. Children, children
Haven't you realize that the owners of the Tea Party and the owners of the MSM - attend the same parties, churches, and restaurants; and they share the same agenda, consolidation of power in the hands of the few to the detriment of the many...
