I read the same thing "Not like Fox" in a LA Times article - Seems to be a Comcast "line". Sounds at first like it is a good thing but think about it - Are they (Comcast MSNBC) going to try to be just another NEWS reporting station? What makes MSNBC so great is that the commentators can speak for us and for them! I do not want to see them turn into vanilla NBC, CBS, or ABC! Come on man, say it isn't so!

Here is the LA Times article:

On Keith Olbermann's suspension: Don't cover the candidates you contribute to
Patrick Goldstein
November 5, 2010 | 5:25 pm

http://www.latimes.com/search/dispatcher.front?Query=Olbermann&target=article&sortby=display_time+descending

..."The Olbermann mess simply highlights the dilemma MSNBC faces as it plays second fiddle to the Fox News juggernaut. If it wants to be a liberal advocacy network, fine, then it can reinstate Olbermann and start shaping the news to benefit liberal causes, the way Fox does on the right. But if it wants to be taken seriously as a real news network, then it should make Olbermann serve a suspension, make sure its other anchors understand the rulebook and, most important, say loud and clear: Unlike our competition, when we say we practice independent journalism, we really mean it."

..........

If true why didn't they buy up NBC?

2. This wasn't about ethics, it was a company policy technicality.
Simply that KO didn't get permission first before donating. And the language used was "should" and not "must".

Any writer defending this is merely trying to justify KO's boss(es) who did this. It's blatant, obvious bull.

The fact that an article defending them is even being written though, tells me that they're feeling some heat. So good. I hope it gets much hotter for them, they deserve it.

3. Not buying it. If that were so -- where are all of journalistas
Making reports to these shows like maddows from
Hither and yon?

If you're going to a real news site then you have
An army of journalists on the investigating whatever story.

The reporters at msnbc are doing a better than average job of
Commenting on stories of the day.

4. There is a vacuum there since CNN has turned into Fox lite
Have a real unbiased news channel give both sides of the issues and I don't mean like these panels where everyone just tries to out yell the other. The Democrats are not always right on
everything and the Republicans aren't always wrong. Just tell it like it is a give both sides of and issue and let us decide.

5. Truth has a Liberal Bias
Just because they tell the truth does not mean they are not a real News Channel. They are not a propaganda channel like Fox News. They may have a Liberal Bias which they are proud of and openly admit to but that does not mean they do not give the political news in a truthful fashion...
