Remember, the MSM was predicting we'd lose both House and Senate
And the losses would be a bloodbath much like 1994.

The fact that we only lost the House, and we're down by a mere 20-seat margin, is not nearly as bad as the MSM predictions in August and September.

2. And, that those seats we lost were mostly Blue Dogs...
and I'm feeling a lot less pain.

5. Blue Dogs gave us a majority.
I guess we can shun them and embrace a permanent minority role.

6. No they didn't. They gave us an illusion of a majority
Losing a blue dog (DINO) or a third way Democrat is never a bad thing. Getting Republicans instead of Progressive Dems - that sucks. But as my husband said, given a few years of those rabid idiot Republicans, then we can run real progressives against them and win. We kept most of our progressive Dems and lost many Blue Dogs. Short term suckage - long term helpage.

Besides, you might not have noticed but we were playing the minority role even when we had the majority. It seems to be the only role DC Dems know and may I add, spineless minority as well.

8. It would only be an illusion of majority if we didn't have a Speaker of the House or the
Senate Majority leader.

Maybe after we lose the house we will figure out the difference between being in the majority and being in the minority, especially after they start investigating Obama.

11. If they do, they will be routed in 2012
Of course, unless they actually start trying to govern, the Republicans are guaranteed a bloodbath in 2012. This may well have been the best outcome possible because now the low information voters might actually see who has been fucking them over.

12. They will blame us and we will blame them.
The voters won't have a clue.

9. I'd rather a minority majority of real Democrats than DINOs.
Those who tried to straddle the fence were the big-time losers in this election, not the progressives and liberals.

Good riddance... except for Russ Feingold. Jeebus, WTF happened there?

10. That's short-sighted. Without a majority in the House, we have no control
over the appropriations process -- which is how the Rethugs now plan to attack previously approved progressive legislation.

I'd much rather have a centrist Dem than any Rethug (none of the Blue Dogs had voting records anywhere close to the Rethugs -- they were significantly more liberal than even Susan Collins or Olympia Snow.)

3. You're right. They had cats and dogs living together.
The corporate media outdid even itself this time around.

7. It wasn't that long ago
that the republicans, and the right wing talking heads were predicting that the gop would not just take control of the house and senate, but that they would have a veto proof majority in both. That didn't come close to happening.
