Not gonna happen.

13. Thanks. I just can't see him going back and having any freedom to be
his usual iconoclastic self. If I were he, I'd be just really uncomfortable. But we'll see I suppose.

2. I don't know,
but I hope so. I love watching his program at 8 PM. He will be missed if he does not return.

3. My guess? Slap on wrist, acknowlegement, sign papers, back on air
But hey, I'm an optimist

4. Buyout. Comcast doesn't want to pay him 7 million a year.

7. I don't think he can
He'd have to be constantly looking over his shoulder to make sure he didn't say something that would get him fired.

Intentionally or not, they have marginalized him.

8. Yeah, I do.
I don't think either one of them can find a better gig. And ratings will be spectacular when he comes back, at least for a bit. I don't think it was a deliberate ratings thing; I think it was some form of freak-out the nature of which we may never know, or an attempt to bring him in line now that our Overlords have arrived. But they already employ everyone who can get an audience to turn in, it's a volatile period and people are fiercely loyal out of a sense of disturbance. They'll employ who'll make the money. Personally, I think it's Keith's call.

11. They were looking for an excuse to claim he violated his contract
so they could get rid of him. As much as I'd love to see him back, I'm not holding my breath.

It also sends a chilling message to the other liberals that they may be next once management finda a flimsy excuse. Better lighten up on the tea party and the repubs.

15. Unless M$NBC wants to fall to third place behind Faux and CNN
then yes, he will be back. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

18. I DO know that GE would give all its first born sons for "Cap & Trade".
No idea what they plan with KO. Suspect that some retired military men are even now discussing how Congressional Dems can save KO's job---by passing "Cap & Trade" in their lame duck session.

19. I voted yes but....
I figure they will bring him back but won't renew his contract or will come to some agreement to buy him out of his current contract so they can say they didn't 'fire' him.

It's that simple. (Sorry, Ms Maddow. But that's how it's gotta be.)

21. Same here ~ the other hosts should go on strike until he's back.
If they don't take a stand now, they will be next. Keith got Rachel her job. He was their star, so was Donohue, the writing is on the wall. She is smart and I'm sure she knows this. The momentum is there right now and it's the right time to force the media for once, to stop censoring people and using excuses to do so.
