George W. Bush Tells Matt Lauer About The Grisly Experience That Turned Him Pro-Life
by Hillary Busis | November 8th, 2010 | Mediaite.com

eorge W. Bush’s pro-life stance solidified when he was a teenager in Texas — after his mother suffered a devastating miscarriage and showed him the fetus in a jar, the former president said in an extraordinary interview that airs tonight.

“She said to her teenage kid, ‘Here’s the fetus,’ ” the shockingly candid Bush told NBC’s Matt Lauer, gesturing as if he were holding the jar during the TV chat, a DVD of which The Post exclusively obtained.

“There’s no question that affected me, a philosophy that we should respect life,” said the former president, who had to drive his distraught mother to the hospital at the time.

So here's the takeaway from this little learning moment in life. Do not fuck with Babs. She's mean-as-shit psycho and she will do whatever she needs to take your shit to town. God help me, I'm even starting to feel sympathy for Poppy over this one.

3. much of W's twisted psyche is owed to his mother
His presidency was an Oedipal opus. He ruined the world. Weak and flawed son of a powerful man and a crazy mother, handed the most powerful position in world history. An epic.

but yeah, that's deranged. I'm shocked the hospital allowed her to have it, or that she fished it out of the toilet bowl at home.

That woman is a sociopath. Gagging her after Katrina and keeping her gagged was that family's one gift to America.

prevent Georgie-boy from getting his girlfriend pregnant and arranging an illegal abortion for her. Pro-life, my ass. Pro-abortions-for-the-rich-only is more like it.

From the excerpts so far, Bush's memoir is so full of BS it should come with an industrial-strength air freshener.

20. This is too far-fetched.. even for Barbara Bush...
when you have a miscarriage, they don't give you the fetus,
the way they might a gallstone. The remains are removed,
and usually incinerated.

Even when the baby is close to full term,
you don't get to take home a souvenir.

I think this is one of those fantasies Bushie got from
the Pro-life movements. They pass all measure of swill as
proof of the dignity of life.

But no way do they send an expelled fetus home with the family.

38. Those were my first thoughts too.
This sounds more like something Georgie imagined for his book in order to justify or give weight to his "pro-life" credentials (despite having a fondness of war and capital punishment). I have a very hard time believing that this event actually happened.

And if it DID happen, then that just furthers my belief that Babs is batshit insane. Who, other than someone deranged, would do something like that?

That whole tale is disturbing as hell.

60. No, but..
Although I am younger than Barbara Bush, I remember being told, as a prospective mother, that you should save the expelled tissue from a miscarriage that happened at home so it could be examined.

So, while I can understand Mrs. Bush saving it, I cannot understand her showing it to her son.

Who the hell DOES that? I had a miscarriage, the LAST thing on my mind was to either keep it around OR show it to my children. That man is a freak and he is NOT pro-life--I loathe that term for anti-abortion, anti-family planning, forced-birth pukes, he's in a class of his own as a death merchant.

Hey Dubya, how many pregnant Iraqi and Afghani women are dead because of your fucked up wars? How many kids? How many babies? How many young men? How many older folk?

How many women and children are dead because of your global gag rule? You sick fuck.

He's pro-life like a spider is a vegan.

57. You know, the thing is, I don't really have a problem with what the Santorums did.
(in this case, anyway.)

For a family that really wants the child, a miscarriage IS experienced as a tragic death, and I see no reason not to treat the remains with love and respect, as you would do with any body of a loved one. And we used to be much closer to death than we are now. There was a time when most people died at home, when family members were the ones to wash and dress the body and place it in its coffin, when a "wake" meant you literally sat up the night with your deceased relative.

I think rituals like this can serve a valuable purpose, and the sanitized hospital/funeral-home thing isn't necessarily the only right way.

Shoving it in your kid's face to prove a point, though, THAT is fucked up beyond belief. Context is everything.

30. Please change your title to reflect what George Bush is - he is ANTI-CHOICE
He does not care about the value of life after the fetus is born. He would deny education, healthcare and basic standard of living. He would send that born fetus off to serve in a war that has no plans for ending. He would strum a guitar while that now born fetus is drowning.

He is not pro-life - he is Anti-Choice.

Wasn't Poppy a contributor as well to Planned Parenthood --

the revelation came on Poppy when he decided to run with Reagan or later --

but I think Barbara remained pro-choice, didn't she?

Iow .... this may be another grotesque creation from the mind of W --

Especially when we consider he put a war in place based on lies for oil and $$ --

and killed 1 million Muslims or more in that venture.

But -- oops! -- anyone counting Muslim lives in this "Crusade" by W?
