Students riot at Tory HQ in London

Protesters have broken into the building housing the Conservative Party headquarters in Westminster.

They have set fire to placards outside.

Student leaders condemned the latest action as "despicable". They say about 30,000 people took part in a march earlier.

A stand-off is taking place between students and the police, with protesters surging forward at Millbank Tower, chanting

The earlier peaceful demonstration has gone from the news reports and as a result all of the good coverage that they got earlier in the day has gone. All the sympathy that the NUS had earlier in the day has disappeared.

Also one of the shops there is a pizza place with a 20% discount for students. I'm guessing that is not valid today.
