I called John Kerry's office today and asked him to protect SS and medicare
I knew what the answer would be, he will always fight for the New Deal. I can't help but think, if only the results of 2000 or 2004 were different...

1. I've often wondered
that too. If Al Gore, who won the popular vote, had become president in 2000, what might be different. No 911 perhaps. No war in Iraq. Over 4000 of our servicemen and women still alive and unharmed. I don't believe in heaven or hell. But if there is a hell, there is surely a spot waiting for bush and chaney.

And if John Kerry had won over bush in 2004, perhaps some of the problems that ail this country might be further along in being remedied.

4. John Kerry didn't give flowery speeches
but I do believe he is a man of his convictions. I will always love Al Gore too...

3. We also need to tell our congresscritter EXACTLY what we want
Lower or eliminate the Medicare eligibility age
Raise or eliminate the Social Security salary cap
End the Bush tax cuts on schedule.

Anything else is fiscally and morally reprehensible.

5. Be careful. To many politicians "protect social security" means cutting benefits and raising the
retirement age. They are the ones saying social security is going bankrupt. Obama uses the phrase this way too.
