3. I agree. I think she's pissed that Rachel zoomed by her.
Randi is a very smart woman and very talented. But she does have an ability to burn a bridge.

11. Rachel has so much class. Everybody that I know who watches her thinks
she's attractive, smart, & has the right temperment.

I do call what she & Keith do as news done by liberals. What they report is factual, but with a little indignation & humor sprinkled in.

Randi Rhodes could stand to tone it down; she comes across as overbearing.

4. she's right. They are pundits... She also said that they are fact based pundits,
She said that they are opinion shows.

What is wrong with that observation? She's correct

5. Randi is still pouting because Rachel made the jump to TV and she didn't
She jumped the shark on Air America. She's the one who *isn't news* anymore.

But she flipped out once to many times for me. She made Malloy seem quiet at times.

8. Randi is very talented and I like her......BUT
She get's very ranty and when she does her voice gets very shrill and not enjoyable. Unless you're a real fan, it can be a deal breaker. I can understand her professional jealousy. She's too edgy for MSNBC I think. But I agree with much of her commentary. If she could find a way to deliver her message less shrill, less like a an old police cruiser siren.......but, then she wouldn't be Randi, would she?

17. Yep....
..... and she tries to make her callers feel like they don't know what they're talking about, even if they're agreeing with her. I can listen to her when she's taking on an issue, but have to immediately turn her off when she takes calls.

12. I heard that- heard her defending Stewart's position on Faux not being partisan...
WTF is going on here? Faux is going to continue to become more vile and some of the Dem commentators (comediennes - whatever!) are going to start to play nice?

One thing you could always count on Randi for was speaking truth to power.

And if she thinks there's something wrong with talk radio on television, what does that make her?

and she has always said that she never wanted--and doesn't want to do television.

21. Randi - your jealousy is showing.
She tried her best to be a guest to be on Keith's show and it never happened. Then when Rachel's star began rising on the network, it was more than she could handle. Randi is self-absorbed, self-promoting and self-impressed. Too bad because she is smart and informative but way too full of herself. And with remarks like these, she shows how small and petty she can be. I'll take Keith and Rachel over Randi anyday.

22. Do you have any more details?
I listen to Hartmann in that time slot because I prefer to listen to Thom, except when he has some of his more obnoxious rwing guests on and I will flip to Randi.

I don't want to pile on as I didn't hear it, but can you expand a little more on what she said, please?

26. Randi is right. They *ARE* commentators, not really journalists.
And to be honest, I think Randi is quicker on her feet than Rachel at times. There have been some instances where Rachel was slow on her feet when interviewing wingnuts; and she once terribly botched an interview with Chris Matthews.

Randi has gotten much, much better in terms of not yelling at her callers and talking to the wingnuts who call in to her show.

She needs to improve when it comes to cutting her callers or guests off. She still has a major problem interrupting people when they speak.

Randi, Rachel and Keith do things differently. They are ALL smart and brilliant at what they do.

I think Randi's point is well taken and I saw nothing untoward or nasty in what she says.

For some reason DUers seem to hate Randi and I'm not sure why. I think she does what she does, and does it very well.

28. Randi was explaining that Jon is a comedian, in a whole different sector
than news commentators like her or Keith or Rachel.

She also said she didn't want to make the move to TV. That she enjoys her radio gig.

I really enjoy her show sometimes.

We have so few progressive hosts, so I really dislike this idea of pitting them against each other.

29. Envy
She's claimed in the past that Keith has "stolen" her research (even though what they both reported on was available on the internet & DU). She didn't start going after Rachel until Rachel started getting invited on MSNBC over & over & over again.

30. I miss Randi
I don't watch KO but I catch Rachel when I can. Love her wit, intelligence, and presentation. Randi can call her whatever she likes. Won't change my opinion of Rachel. And I look to Rachel for news.

Randi dug her hole. She needs to either crawl out or accept that she is not the person she once was in the progressive movement.

31. They are NOT news, they are opinion shows!
If you do not see and recognize this fact, you are as ignorant and polarized as a rabid Fox viewer.

It does not in any fashion make Rachel and Olbermann bad, theyare very good, probably the best opinion shows around.
