Here's another reason to get rid of Nancy Pelosi.
Or so some people think.

This from a Facebook friend today.

..."And did you also know, that the speaker of the House made $21.7 million dollars last year? We paid that for her. We only pay our service men around $30,000 a year to put their lives on the line for our freedom. Does anyone else see the the craziness of this?"...

My response was...
"Please recheck your facts...my information tells me the salaries for 2010 are as follows.
Speaker of the House - $223,500
Majority Leader - $193,400
Minority Leader - $193,400

...Still much more than the military makes, but not nearly as much as your post states. :)

Her answer was as follows...
"even if your facts are right, how can they justify paying the adverage service man or woman $30,000 with the lesser paid congressman receiving $150,000?"

EVEN IF YOUR FACTS ARE RIGHT? These people are

1. Ask them how much Boehner should be paid
when he becomes the Speaker.

8. He'll do anything for two cases of Jim Beam and a year's supply of Spray-On Tan...

...plus the kickbacks he'll be getting from all the contracts going to his buddies, who'll be very busy moving the loot to Switzerland.

2. If we paid them well enough they might now be so quick to make deals and take bribes.

3. Tell her that if each service man or woman's salary
was doubled, her taxes would probably go up more than 50%.

4. Piatti's
I'm still going to go to her restaurant.

Great food and wine at a reasonable price.

5. Have they conflated what Nancy's personal worth might or not
be with what she actually earns.

10. Then that is exactly why you should use the term
if they don't understand it... They can look it up.

The world and the issues are far too complex for 10 word single syllable answers. It's well past time to get past the Power Point Sound Bites.

12. I think it's the new faux talking point.
Skimming the channels this morning/last night?, I saw the banner on the fox channel to read something like: Why are so many gov. workers paid $150K? I did not listen to the argument, but the 3 or 4 talking heads on screen looked OUTRAGED.

Perhaps they are also focusing on Pelosi's salary? Let's face it, facts are not important to them either.

14. I feel certain this was from FauxNews...
I was immediately shocked that my friend thought this sounded like breaking news. The stupidity is mindboggling.

13. An O-8 (2 star general) makes 145k+/yr
12121.20/mo (if over 18 year mark which is generally a requirement to touch that rank, they probably won't hit that rank until 20-24 years in at a minimum)
Not counting other benefits like BAH and free health care.

But apparently leadership positions should be paid less than the average grunt who might not even have a high school diploma.
