Humbling question-anyone here Knowledgeable about Social security disability?
Edited on Mon Nov-15-10 11:44 AM by w8liftinglady
I have been freed to return to work..Yea!

My work, however,is taking their sweet-ass time approving my coming back.
Should I notify Social security...can they help me?I understand they will be made aware of this when I return to work...but will they withdraw my benefits if My employer hasn't allowed me back yet?Can Social security help retrain me or find me a new employer?
I am feeling somewhat discouraged at this point.

1. Are you getting SSDI?
Have you tried their "Ticket to Work" program?

8. That's ok
You're allowed to have your head up your butt. I deleted my post after I saw you edited yours. In any case, I hope everything works out for you.

4. I think that
you may want to take a look at Social Security's disability web page. You might also consider contacting the local Department of Social Services regarding medical insurance. Medicare, like Medicaide, are insurance programs. It is generally the "carrier," so to speak, of those programs that have related job training programs.

I also recommend speaking to an attorney who specializes in these things. A consultation is usually free, and is always worth having.

6. You should be alright.
Your benefits shouldn't end or be adjusted until you notify SS that you are receiving a paycheck.

Plus SS does have a transition program for those returning to work. Read up on it and see if it applies to you. There are various state agencies who will provide you with information:
