THis is actually funny to watch and sad
The R is insisting that the people rejected tax and spend... but POLLS (Exit Polls) show that people actually did not vote for the Rs, but was a PROTEST vote...

It is a particular thing about the US Political system... if you do not like one side, you are forced to vote for the other, even if you don't like them either. It is the only way to do this...

But this is not going to end well...

After all the triangulation will lead to the END of many things we have fought for, or best case weakening... and that will only increase... the anger...

1. It doesn't matter what voters think or want.
It only matters what Repukes do when they have some power.

2. Exactly, and they have become a party
that cares only for power.

3. "if you do not like one side, you are forced to vote for the other"
Where did you get that? That's pretty black and white and ignorant to believe. You can vote for third party members, you can write in names, or you can not vote at all.

And what's with THE accidental CAPITALIZED words?

4. By design, winner takes all, the system defaults
to TWO parties that will get power back and forth. Until that IS changed... will require a Constitutional Amendment, that is the way it is. Any other vote is a protest vote with few chances of making a real difference. This is basic poli sci 101 material.

I wish we could change the system by the way.

5. Seems you didn't pay much attention in poli sci 101, then.
Since your assumption is that the only choice you have to express your disgust is to vote for the OTHER party.

NOPE. It's mostly NOT voting at all, stay at HOME and go AHEM.

Oh, I see you just changed it to 'any other vote.' Which includes third party votes as well, which makes it a contradiction to your OP. Well, ahem.

Good night from afar.

6. Actually I did
And I recommend a readying of the Constitution.

Voting third party IS by definition a protest vote in the US There are VERY FEW examples of this not being the case, MOSTLY in local, NON PARTISAN elections.

7. Just before I go to bed, I'm
readying the CONSTITUTION. I think, this time I'll go with a mauve color. I like it. Not that it really matters, since I have another constitution to deal with. But I still like mauve.

I'm tired, so I only saw the capitalized words here: IS US VERY FEW MOSTLY NON PARTISAN. My inner Dadaist is PRETTY happy now.

Nighty night! :hi:

9. Yes, why do you keep me awake?
John Stuart Mill, Adam Smith, Ayn Rand, you might like them, but they're all pretty much obsolete by now. Sorry.

10. I have watched politics since my first vote for JFK and I have watched
many third party votes that merely ended up helping one or the other party get ahead. I do not remember any third party winning. But they sure can help someone lose. The results are still the same - we end up paying for it.
